Once I used the software to modify the pics to the proper 'size', the frame stopped freezing on certain pictures for long periods of time and it stopped refusing to accept certain photos that inexplicably could would not show up once I thought they were transferred. Part of the problem was the extremely poor documentation that came with the frame, but here is what I've discovered since my original review above:You really HAVE to use the software that you download from the site to 'optimize' your pics for this frame. When loading new pics, I found that most of them would not load for some reason. This was my main complaint about this frame. However, you still need to be careful if you are using the Compact Flash (CF) slot because as mentioned above you could easily miss the receptor and push your CF card inside the frame if you slide it in at the wrong angle.AND for those of you saying you can't get it to turn on: Keep in mind there is a manual on/off switch on the back of the frame itself that need to be turned on in order for the remote to work. The Tech Service email address no longer exists. This thing is loaded.with problems, that is.
If you put a compact flash card in, if it's inserted at the wrong angle, the card will miss the connector and slip inside the frame to be lost forever (until you smash the unit on the floor in frustration, that is). You can't just load a bunch of jpegs onto a thumbdrive and load them into the frame's digital memory or you will run into most of the problems I detail above. First off, it freezes on certain pictures; eventually it moves on to the next picture, but it's just annoying. AVOID AVOID AVOID.---------Revised review: Initially I gave this a really bad review. And of course the manual still doesn't seem to match the on-screen controls nor the buttons on the frame itself that apparently have to be used in conjunction with the remote to delete pictures or change settings.I would change my star rating above, but Amazon won't let me do that, but at this point I would rate the frame 3 stars instead of 1. The owner's manual that came with it doesn't seem to match the onscreen menu options nor the controls on the exterior.
Same exact problem on two different units (my mother and I both got one for xmas and both do the same thing).
Very pleased with the purchase. This a very nice digital picture frame from a well known company. It has alot of features that others this size do not have.
It won't turn on. I am giving this one star only because it seems that the review will not be accepted without at least one star. I received this picture frame for Christmas, but just got around to setting it up. There's no way to communicate this problem to the company via its website. The product is actually worthless. Impossible. It seems there's something wrong with the power supply.
It took some time, but we figured out how to get pictures from the computer to the frame in the order we wanted. When it worked, the picture was the best of the four kinds we looked at. We are expecting to never have it replaced by the company and the money is down the drain.
We knew the risk. We emailed customer service and got no response. We read the reviews.
We sent the frame back 2 months ago and have heard nothing. But, that is worth nothing if the product did not function, therefore the "1" rating. We hoped for the best and bought it anyway.
The remote stopped working, and shortly after that the frame did, too.
DON'T RECOMMEND THESE PRODUCT. I BOUGTH THE FRAME FOR MY MOTHER AND WHEN I TRY TO TURN IT ON, IT DIDN'T WORK.
